As we mark Volunteers’ Week, we want to take a moment to celebrate and sincerely thank the extraordinary volunteers who give their time, energy, and heart to Citizens Advice County Durham.
Every day, our volunteers make a real difference in the lives of people across our communities. Whether they’re offering advice, supporting our operations behind the scenes, or helping to shape and improve services, their contributions are vital, and deeply appreciated.
This week is about recognition, and we want every single one of our volunteers to know:
We see you. We value you. We are incredibly grateful for you.
In the last year alone, our volunteers have helped countless individuals navigate difficult issues, from housing and benefits to employment and debt. Their support has not only provided practical help but also emotional reassurance during uncertain times.
Volunteering is at the heart of what we do at Citizens Advice. It brings people together, strengthens communities, and empowers individuals, both those seeking help and those offering it. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, but they share a common thread: a deep commitment to helping others.
Here’s what some of our clients have said:
“I felt listened to for the first time in ages.”
“They didn’t just help me with the problem, they helped me feel more in control.”
“I don’t know what I would have done without their support.”
These are not just words. They are proof of the impact our volunteers make every single day.
As we celebrate our volunteers this week, we also look to the future. The need for trusted, free advice in our communities is greater than ever, and so is the importance of volunteering. We’re always welcoming new people into our volunteer family. If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, now is a perfect time. Visit our voluntering page for more information.
To our current volunteers:
Thank you. Your time, compassion, and dedication inspire us every day. Citizens Advice County Durham simply wouldn’t be the same without you.
Happy Volunteers’ Week!
