Financial Inclusion Worker (Cost Of Living Team)

Hours: 37 hours a week

Location: Hybrid office & home with travel across County Durham

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £26,393 FTE

  KEY DUTIES

  • Attend Partner locations within the county to give advice to those in crisis 
 
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships throughout the Crisis Support Partnership, AICD network and with other relevant stakeholders to identify residents at risk of financial exclusion.   
  • Use sensitive listening and questioning skills in order to allow clients to explain their problem(s) and empower them to set their own priorities.  
  • Interpret and communicate relevant and accurate information and guidance using internal resource systems within Citizens Advice County Durham and from approved external sources 
  • Maintain detailed case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation that comply with our Quality Standards 
  • Work in collaboration with Crisis Support Project partners (DCP and EDT) to optimise outcomes for residents including access to, and application for, grants or funding 
  • Ensure we have a “no wrong door” approach so that clients and potential clients who contact us get the advice and support they need and expect, including their referral internally or to other external specialist agencies as appropriate. 
  • Advise across channels e.g. face to face, email and telephone as required 
  • Demonstrate commitment to the principles, aims and policies of CACD 
  • Be prepared to travel where needed to deliver services 
  • Abide by health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues

Treasurer (Trustee / Volunteer)

Hours: We ask all Trustees for an average time commitment of 6 hours per month. Additional responsibilities for our Treasurer will likely involve an additional average 4 hours per month.

Location: County Durham

Duration: Minimum 3-year term

Salary: None (expenses reinbursed)

Citizens Advice County Durham is a charity with roots running in the community for over 85 years. We provide free, independent and confidential advice to help clients overcome their problems. We campaign on the big issues and act as a voice when our clients need to be heard. We aim to reduce difficulties and disparities in society and help marginalised people in our community.

We are seeking a Treasurer to join our Board to help guide the important work that we do. You will have the opportunity to contribute to positive change in our community, working alongside a passionate and supportive team of Trustees, staff and volunteers.

What we provide:

While this is a voluntary role, we ensure we provide our Trustees with the support, guidance and knowledge they need to hit the ground running. We achieve this through our 2-day trustee induction programme and ongoing peer to peer support.  While this is an unpaid role we cover expenses.

What we need:

We ask all our Trustees to commit to a 2-day induction and a minimum 3-year term.

In addition to fulfilling a role as Trustee, we need our Treasurer to: –

  • Chair our Finance Subcommittee;
  • Inform, guide and advise the Board on budget, accounts and financial statements:
  • Advise on the financial implications of strategic plans;
  • Ensure an appropriate reserves policy is in place;
  • Ensure appropriate accounting procedures and controls are in place;
  • Oversee the production of necessary financial reports/returns, accounts and audits.

Senior Telephone Assessor

Hours: 22hrs per week

Location: – Hybrid – home working but with obligatory office days each month.

Salary: £26393.75 FTE (pro-rata)
