The cost-of-living crisis is exposing online gambling platforms

As winter sets in, the cost-of-living squeeze is putting more and more people under financial strain. Our local Citizens Advice are seeing the beginnings of a toxic cycle between growing financial vulnerability and online gambling. At the same time as people are compelled to gamble to try to cover their increasing costs, uncontrolled gambling spending adds another pressure onto already stretched budgets. The result is highly toxic for consumers already struggling to make ends meet.

People are gambling to try and fix their financial situation and to cope with the stress, anxiety and isolation of the crisis.
